This month is my ten year anniversary with PRIER. Ten years ago I was living in Kansas and working from the Grandview, Missouri office. Nine years ago my husband took a job out of state.
We were moving to Sterling Colorado, a little town on the northeastern corner. This was exciting for my husband but a little nerve-wracking for me. I really liked my job and didn’t want to leave. My husband suggested a remote office. After talking with Nick Manning, he said if we could set up a remote office and make it work, they would love to keep me working for PRIER. This was great news as I do love my job.

What comes to mind when you think of the word “EASY”? The first thing that pops into my head is Lionel Richie singing “Easy Like Sunday Morning.” You had better cover your ears if you are close because I usually start to belt it out. While you won’t like my singing, I would guess that you like things that are EASY. This word is an adjective and is defined as, “not hard or difficult; requiring no great labor or effort.” What is important to understand is that in order to provide a service that is easy for the customer, it does require great effort for the service provider.

On March 14th, 2012 a gentleman named Greg Smith resigned after 12 years with one of the most influential Wall Street firms, Goldman Sachs, and he did it by publishing his resignation letter on the Opinion Pages of the New York Times. His resignation sent the social media sites into a tizzy, and was talked about on news shows and talk radio of all political leanings. To say he burned a bridge is an understatement. Public reaction from Wall Street was seemingly quiet, and I get the feeling the other Wall Street investment firms are relieved it did not happen to them. I’m sure the reasons why Mr. Smith decided to leave his position are multifaceted, however in his resignation letter he blamed the fact that Goldman Sachs’ corporate culture had changed over his 12 year tenure.
