With the holiday season vastly approaching, many of us take this time to reflect on the things we are truly grateful for; family, friends, a roof over our heads, food and working utilities to name a few. One of the many things I am truly grateful for are programs like United Way, a charitable foundation designed to help those in need of some of the aforementioned essentials. Each year, United Way does a campaign drive for companies to encourage their employees to give back to the community. PRIER is a participant of United Way’s program, and they even match their employee’s contribution 100%! Sweet!

Here at PRIER, we aim to succeed by providing customers with the best plumbing products in the world. We work hard, just like our very own Kansas City Royals did this year. The Royals had an amazing opportunity to play in the World Series, an opportunity that hadn’t come along in 29 years. Unlike October 27, 1985, when they won against the St. Louis Cardinals, they unfortunately did not bring home a win this time. However, they did their very best and that makes them winners in my book.

As the Office Manager at PRIER, one of my jobs is to help build team spirit. Our mission statement encourages having fun and enjoying our work, therefore PRIER has formed a Spirit Committee that is made up of associates from each department. Within the Spirit Committee, we strive to have a spirit building event each month.

Here at PRIER, we have a fondness for water since it flows through about everything we produce. Although our products are designed to provide water mainly to gardens and lawns, water for our bodies is even more important. I recently read an article in a favorite magazine of mine, Motorcycle Consumer News, by Dr. John Alevizos entitled (strangely enough) “Water."

What does baseball, football, NASCAR and barbeque remind you of? Of course it is Kansas City! Right now, PRIER’s home is celebrating alongside our sports teams and we are here to tell you--it is a great time to be in Kansas City!

Recently, PRIER had the pleasure of purchasing two new Swiss Turning Centers. These machines are designed to turn brass rods into small, complex, precision parts. Having this process under the same roof as production allows PRIER to continue making “A” quality products, while adding greater control over inventory levels.

As the Office Manager at PRIER, one of my department’s jobs is to answer the phones. We are the “voice of PRIER”. When I am interviewing a potential new team member, I always make sure they know the most important thing they do is to make a great first impression on anyone calling our number. We smile as we say, “Thank you for calling PRIER Products. This is Cindy, how may I help you?”
