KC Fall Festival Season

Outside of our offices, one of the best things about pumpkin spice latte season- I mean fall- is that Kansas City has so much to offer. There are more festivals and events in Kansas City than one person can attend in one season! Here is a review of some of the fall events in Kansas City to help you decide where you might go this season.

Applefest – October 3rd

One of the best fall festivals I have been to so far is in Weston, MO. At their annual Applefest event, there were several streets lined with vendors with lots of artisan crafts and goodies. It is a great place to shop for the “hard-to-buy-for” person on your list, as there are handmade soaps, quirky knick-knacks for the house and giftable food items. There is also live music, pony rides, face painting and pumpkin painting for the kids. And of course, there were lots of apples, apple cider, dumplings, pies and cookies to indulge.

Louisburg Cider Mill Ciderfest – October 3rd-4th

The much-acclaimed Ciderfest at Louisburg Cider Mill, however, was quite disappointing. It was a small space, and it was packed. There were long lines to get apple cider donuts and cider, which many waited for, but they ran out! You can also watch the cider being made, which was much more industrial than expected. Instead of an artisanal process for how to make the best cup of cider, you watch a machine churn apples through a glass pane. There were not many vendors, and the pumpkin patch was very small. Older kids can do a corn maze, but I’m not sure that would make up for the lack of activities for adults and young kids.

Dunn’s Cider Mill

If you are looking for a quick stop to get some fall goodies, Dunn’s Cider Mill is a great place. There is not too much to see, and there are no official events, but they make fabulous apple cider and apple cider donuts. They also offer locally grown apples, apple butter and Amish made jams.

Faulkner’s Farm Pumpkin Season – October 1st-31st

There are so many things to see and do at Faulkner’s Farm during their Pumpkin Season. On the weekends, they offer hayrides, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, hayride, train ride, playground, corn mazes and so much more. Since they have so many activities, kids of all ages will have a good time.

There are so many events in Kansas City to explore this fall there is not space to mention them all! Here is a comprehensive Fall Festival guide in KC for more information. Hopefully one of these events sparks your interest and you can get out there and enjoy fall in KC!
