PRIER installed solar panels on each of its buildings allowing PRIER to significantly cut its carbon footprint. Motion detected LED lighting is used throughout the warehouse and offices to further reduce energy costs. PRIER saves more than 330,000 kilowatt hours per year; enough to power 30 houses for more than a year.
- 12,000 kWh’s saved per month/150,000 kWh’s per year (on average) due to solar panels
- 15,000 kWh’s saved per month/180,000 kWh’s per year (on average) due to LED lighting
- In addition to energy savings, PRIER also saves costs associated with maintenance since LED fixtures are rated for 15 years. Harmful mercury emissions and greenhouse gases are eliminated due to the adoption of LED
Recycling
PRIER recycled 150 tons of brass, 6 tons of copper and other metals, and 25,000 cubic feet of cardboard in the past year.
- 50% of materials used in products are from recycled material, limiting raw materials needed
- 95% of the products can be fully recycled and re-used without negative environmental impact
- PRIER utilizes recycled water in product testing and gray water systems in over 75% of the water usage in plant floor operation
Transportation
PRIER products are manufactured in the heartland of the United States, reducing the transportation costs and minimizing environmental factors associated with shipping, especially from manufactures based outside the U.S. We can ship coast-to-coast within a day.
Design
All of PRIER's products are designed to the highest standards developed by the American Society for Sanitary Engineers. Through engineering and design modifications, PRIER reduced the number of SKUs stocked by customers by more than 50%.
Community Impact
Serving Others
PRIER embodies a culture of honoring God, respecting others and giving back. It donates at least 10 percent of annual profits to worthy causes through our charitable foundation managed by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Nearly every associate participates in the United Way campaign. The company has helped numerous children and adults throughout the greater Kansas City area and world.
