One way that they compare is the discipline that both PRIER and Olympic athletes put into their work. Without discipline, athletes would never be able to stick with their strict regimen of training. In doing so, athletes would never be able to win anything at all or even qualify. With PRIER, you would be able to see how every associate here uses discipline in their work. We do so by training our associates with the key tools that make them great and makes them able to produce fine products with one thing in mind…quality. Each product line examines and handles each part thoroughly, just like how an Olympic athlete examines their physical abilities and handles their training schedule vigorously.
Another similarity between PRIER and Olympians is structure. Athletes are grouped together as a unit with coaches that oversee all things pertaining to the athletes. They know each other’s role and band together to reach the goal for which they are striving. The coaches make sure that they provide everything to the groups or individuals to insure proper training and techniques. PRIER falls under the same pretense. You can start with the supervisors, managers, department heads and the owners who interject themselves into the associates training and career paths. Then you have the associates who are grouped together who work individually but for the whole team. You bring these together and it makes a great, well-trusted company.
Lastly, I think one of the most important comparisons between both is the fact that we both enjoy what we do. We ALL have fun! You see all Olympians work and train hard. They sacrifice time and dedicate themselves. Even though some may fail, you will see the sportsmanship and elation on their faces just because they were able to compete. That is something definitely comparable to PRIER. It is a company that is made up of different individuals who work diligently and at the end of the day every associate is content. Hard work, attention to detail and a commitment to excellence is what PRIER reaches for. We enjoy the success our customers have given us, but we also enjoy our bumps in the road. Those bumps only make us better in order to serve our customers better.
So as we continue to watch the 2012 Olympics, let us think about what these Olympians are accomplishing and what it took for them to get there. They set their goal for the gold. These are the moments in their lives that will define themselves and their countries. We support our fellow Americans who are competing and take pride in them, just as we at PRIER take pride in our American-made hydrants.
