The ASA is holding the Network 2012 event in Orlando, Florida on October 17-20th and they are expecting a better than ever turnout. This organization has revamped their meetings in the last couple of years and has gone with more of a conference and educational format than a tradeshow. They do a great job of educating the industry using influential and informative speakers on business trends, economic forecasts and legislative happenings. At the meeting, the ASA’s full time lobbyist, Dan Hilton, gives a review on what is happening in Washington that will affect our business and he gets our feedback on the issues we are facing. As an advocate for ASA, Dan helped PRIER participate in a “stakeholders meeting” with the EPA regarding the Lead Free Legislation. This was an informative meeting with the EPA, plumbing manufacturers and state plumbing boards regarding the revised “lead free” legislation in the Safe Drinking Water act effective in January 2014. This legislation will have a significant impact on the plumbing industry and it was important that PRIER understand how it will influence our future product offerings and opportunities. When It comes to new plumbing products, the ASPE Engineered Plumbing Exposition has all the latest. Charlotte, North Carolina is the host of the October 27-30th event and is bringing in all the key engineers who design our plumbing systems. This show is always highly anticipated and fun to participate in because the engineers truly are looking for better products and ways of designing plumbing systems. ASPE offers seminars and continuing education classes as well as a major product trade show. It is generally well attended and all of the major manufacturers are showing the latest and greatest products. PRIER is proud to show off our new roof hydrants and an updated trade show booth that best represents what we have to offer the commercial plumbing designers. We have some nice gifts for all the engineers who visit our booth (booth 1973) and want to learn more about our wall hydrants. Make plans to attend this show and visit our booth.
