But then we moved into our “new” (built in 1967, so really 45 years old) house and it needed EVERYTHING revamped! Every ceiling, wall and floor needed restoration or total replacement – outside and in! Now I’m not complaining; we bought this “fixer upper” with open eyes, but I am telling you that the amount of work I calculated we would need to expend was not overstated. The projects still go on and probably won’t end in my lifetime. But this is what Lynn and I wanted to do and we have had a blast working together, creating our new home.
In the process of all this activity and construction at the old and new houses, it was a welcome sight to find past work and products that were top quality, like a six-inch concrete foundation, great floor plans, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, American Standard 3 gallon toilets, and PRIER freezeless wall hydrants. This meant I did not have to replace or rebuild! I am happy to say that both houses were plumbed with PRIER valves, and to my delight (but not surprise), all fixtures were in great working order. I was selling a home with PRIER valves that were 27 years old and buying a home with 45 year old PRIER valves. In both cases, I did not have to do a thing; both sets were still working flawlessly.
At PRIER we say we design and build product to last the life of the plumbing system. Well, I can attest in two examples, it is so. I thank my predecessors from PRIER days gone by for designing and building product as we still do today… PRIER… Innovative. Reliable. Value… Built for Life!”
